Ode to September

Wherein the cub made honor roll again!  
I had a sunrise interview and accepted the offer to transfer.
Received a postcard from a dear friend.
We finally met the tree frog who frequents our deck garden.
My friends in PR got through the storm safely.
My beloved uncle is safe from hurricane Ian.
We drove to WV to try a fab veg grilled cheese truck.
We've had some stunning skies.
Had to don flannel pajamas one night and turn on the heat briefly.
The cub learned a hard lesson about toxic people...
and then made a new friend who joined us at the orchard picnic.
Russia is still bombing the brave Ukraine.
Our president stated the pandemic is over despite evidence it's NOT!
45 stole classified documents.

October: Samhain and other blessings

Wherein we have our annual apple picking and orchard picnic with friends.  My son and I celebrate my birthday whilst he dad went to KC to tend to his parents.  The man cub received a bow and arrow from his grandfather.  We learn to make tinctures and tonics.  There is an unseasonably warm day so we muster up some woodland hijinks.  And Halloween provides much laughter and we receive compliments on our floating candles and festive decor.  And suddenly it's officially the season of simmering soups and cups of hot cocoa.
