Ode to December

Wherein I luckily had xmas off...

The one without Santa.  The one when he was presented with a scarf made from years of yarn that once donned the gifts from the jolly old elf.  The one that was bittersweet and filled with questions about how it all went down.

The one when we watched the Meteor shower under a shared blanket on the deck.

The one when I photographed the full moon thru the window from my desk while I was working.

"Light is an invitation to happiness,
and that happiness, when it's done right,
is a kind of holiness." - Mary Oliver

Happy Solstice, Blessed Yule, God Jul, Joyeux Noël, Fröhliche Weihnachten, Merry Xmas. Whatever you celebrate or don’t celebrate, I wish you well. Bring on the return of the light! Bring on the new year and may it be better than the last one.

We are grateful for our health - and a respectable snow storm - for snowball fights with beloved neighbors - for warm beds and woolens - for meteor showers and sunsets on the deck - for cozy fires and hot cocoa...

for the hope of better days, the promise of vaccination, and reunions with beloveds post pandemic.
