Ode to June: Harbinger of Delight

Wherein the cub came home for a visit and we went to brunch at Water Street. I enjoyed spending time with him and the laughter he brings.  It's been odd not having him home.  I keep expecting to hear his guitar, or his laughter, of seeing him bounding down the stairs to tell me something.

I got a much needed and long awaited pay increase, however took away my 4x10.  It was dishonest and unfair, especially since I work most weekends and having Fridays off gave me a day to recover. I love this job and don't want to leave, but I will have to keep an open mind if an opportunity presents itself. 

I'm looking forward to my first week off since life got turned upside down. It will be a staycation wherein I will work on creative projects and visit local friends. 

There was a heat wave, lots of storms and a strawberry moon.  I went for a walk before bed to enjoy the fireflies and was able to identify two species.  I have been enjoying the peacefulness, the kitties, and the garden.
