I thought La Madeleine was only in Texas and Louisiana! Now here is my question: how was it filled, with chocolate chips that become hard when not warm or a delicious paste. As you can see, I am a pain au chocolat snob.

Oh dear...certainly NOT chocolate chips, but the delicious paste...dark, thick and bitter sweet. And the croissant was very buttery and flakey.

I tried a croissant from Vie de France and it was a disappointment. There was chocolate drizzed on the top which should have served as a sticky omen, but I tried it anyway.

When you have a moment, my compadre, order yourself one of THESE!!!
