Banquet of Dreams
The great hall was illuminated by the glow of fireflies that came to feast upon a garland of sugar cubes delicately strung between the old wood beams. The scent of finely milled hot cocoa filled the air. There was plenty of creamy butter for the warm slices of crusty bread with bits of apples and pecans baked inside. They ate and ate until there was nothing left to eat.
The boy, exhausted, fell fast asleep in his furry trousers and magic monkey shoes (along with his friend, rabbit) and dreamt of his dada's return.
And his mama cleaned up the kitchen.
