I Carry You With Me

"I carry you with me into the world,
into the smell of rain
& the words that dance between people" - Brian Andreas

Robert had an interview in the DC area today and won't be home until tomorrow morning. I hope he is offered the position as it would be better for our family in a number of ways. Although we love the house we purchased in upstate NY, we decided that we don't want to plant roots here.

After lunch, Satch and I took a 25 minute trek to the playground.
He loves the playground. He loves digging in the wood chips and, of course, the swings! We played for three hours and he still cried when it was time to go. The organic cheddar crackers that I brought to soften our departure were of little help...he ran away clutching the tiny tub. We had just enough time to get home and eat dinner before the 30 minute stroll to Toddler's Tango.

It is the second day of autumn and already the air smells of fallen leaves. I handed Satch a c
rimson leaf...the color of his pram. He examined it closely and giggled before tossing it to the ground.

i just posted about layna and the swings today, too! and yesterday we all went for a nice hike where i sat with her next to a stream and handed her leaves to explore.
synchronicity.

i love the quote by brian andreas. i have a print with one that i love- will try to make that my next post.

and what a handsome little fella, your satchel.

ps -i remember reading something about a preference for a certain teething cookie- because i totally agreed with the maple-smell-like-a-pancake-till-the-next-day ones. we just tried the barley ones, but they too quickly softened having a piece break off that layna can't handle just yet. which were the ones you found to be the best?

Synchronicity, indeed! We liked the Vanilla teething biscuits by Healthy Times. They didn't break apart in his mouth so easily and they didn't have a strong smell. Now that he has a couple of molars we give Satch these Banana Cookies because he loves bananas and they're organic with no refined sugars. They also soften quite quickly which is great because he now likes to pack his cheeks like a chipmonk.
