A Not So Good Afternoon
Life's been pretty wild since Satch gave up his afternoon nap. I can see that he's tired, he frustrates easily and gets extremely irritable, but he still refuses to nap. And I know that when he's an adult, we will look back on such days together and laugh. However, I now have the leverage I need to guarantee myself a large box of chocolates in the future.
And I know I probably shouldn't have laughed, but his response to my question was really insane in the membrane, and the laughter did ease the tension.

His laugh and your laugh made me smile this morning. I love how our children's laughter is contagious (even when they might be fighting a light hearted moment--at least my little one gets into "serious" moods).
Also evident in this clip is just how well you two know each other. Sometimes I feel like we (Annabelle and me) know each other best of all.
ah the fun.
thought i'd pass on today's "daily groove", as it seems to be somewhat fitting...
THE DAILY GROOVE ~ by Scott Noelle

:: Letting Go of HOW ::
Creativity involves exploring the unknown. So if you
want to *parent* creatively, you need to accept that
you often won't have the comfort of knowing, in
advance, *how* it's all going to work out.
In other words, creative parenting is what you might
call a "faith journey." You're constantly facing the
unknown and surrendering to it. When you surrender to
the unknown, you open a channel to inspiration and new
knowledge.
Today, if at some point your child's desire seems
incompatible with yours, tell yourself that there must
be a way that both of you can feel satisfied, even
though you don't yet know what that is.
"I don't need to know how... I trust that a way will
be revealed."
Remember that the most creative solutions often defy
logic!
