Homemaking
House update:
1. The exterior is finished but lower shutters removed because they didn’t hang them right (twice). The lawn is not in, but 5 trees were planted.
2. The great room (living, kitchen, dining) is completed, as is the deck just thru the french doors off the dining. The dining area is windowed on all sides with very tall ceilings for my ficus and lemon. I’m very pleased with the subway tile back splash and the under-mounted industrial sink in the kitchen. I love the rounded edges and the depth.
3. Our baths are almost finished, just simple white tile. The cabinets are black wood, white tops...so a reverse of the kitchen. We went basic with the baths to save money that could be used in the living area where we spend more time.
4. The doors, trim and fixtures are finished.
5. The little art studio is ready.
6. The library / study is ready, but I need to change the light fixture. The builder calls this room a formal dining room which we don’t need so it will house our book cases.
7. Found out our power company has a sun-share coop with the solar farm up the street so we are hoping to link in. #littleHouseAtBigLake
