The Hundred Is There

I have officially reported to duty as a mermaid warrior! My hope is to host my own bit of merminess this summer. With that in mind I designed a new kidlet t-shirt based on this poem by Loris Malaguzzi. It pretty much sums up how I feel.

Hi Wendy, I love your posts because there is always some bit of beautiful poetry that I've never seen before. Thank you.

Hi again,
gosh, I clicked on the link to read the rest of the poem, and it made me feel so sad after feeling so uplifted by the first half. I'm well aware of the concepts in the latter half, but enjoyed the first part so much as a celebration of children.

hi jill! i agree, and that is why i choose to focus on uplifting portion of the poem. and i'm working on a project that celebrates children and their unique ways of "being" in spite of all the interference. the last line of the poem reads, "The child says: No Way The hundred is there."

and this makes my heart leap because to me it means that no matter what they may encounter, the child knows the truth.

(wish i had your email to respond to you personally)
